Cork 20 International Rally to return to Millstreet for 2014

Press Release No1:

The Munster Car Club (M.C.C) which is the Cork based club who run and promote the World Famous Cork 20 International Rally are proud to announce that the 2014 Event will celebrate 100 years of rallying on the famed cork roads. There are a number of special events planned around the Cork 20 this year to mark the occasion.

Indeed the Munster Car Club moved the Headquarters for the event in 2013 to the Cork town of Millstreet. Moving the Event was so popular with crews participating and fans alike that the Munster Car Club felt the right decision was to hold the Centenary Celebrations over the weekend of October

3rd – 5th in the home of Irish rallying again this year in Millstreet.

The Club are delighted to have Kevin O’Riordan as the events Clerk of the Course for the Centenary year. Speaking earlier Kevin expressed his delight at being at the helm of the 2014 100 year Centenary event, He added the Cork 20 International Rally is world famous and in fact is one of the oldest rallies in Europe second only to the World famous Monte Carlo Rally. O’Riordan added that

we are again the last round of the 2014 Clonakilty Blackpudding Irish Tarmac Rally Championship and with points and a half on offer should certainly see some tremendous battles over the weekend. He also added we are also a counting round of the plasticbags.ie southern 4 rally championship as well as the Munster Car Club championship.

The Club is very grateful to the people and residents of the area surrounding Millstreet for their assistance putting this year’s event together and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the residents who allow the roads used to be closed to facilitate the event. Again a big word of thanks must go to the Millstreet Traders who have come on board to help run this event and we would like to thank them for their assistance again for this special year. Details for the event will be released shortly and we look forward to seeing you all in Millstreet on the first weekend in October.
