Donegal’s Brian Brogan has entered the Galway Rally hoping to repeat his national victory of ten years ago. Chairman of Donegal Motor Club, TROA Director, and full time businessman one would be forgiven for questioning how he gets the time to rally.
A two time winner in 2016 and 2017 registered competitor, Brian if he can squeeze in enough rounds must be one of the favourites to clinch the National ITRC crown. He won’t have it all his own way in Galway though, with the likes of Eugene Meegan, Liam Howlett, Viv Hamill, Kevin Eves and a raft of others on the entry list.
Sometimes the National competitors are overshadowed by the International field. Without them events would struggle to balance the books and the entertainment value is what attracts a big percentage of spectators. As in 2016 the ITRC National Championship will probably go down to the wire at the Cork 20 in October.
