It was with great shock and deep sadness that all associated with the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship learned of the passing of Shawn Rayner and Steve Dear. Shawn along with Steve’s son Declan had become regulars on the Irish Tarmac Historic Championship over the last few years finishing 3rd overall in 2017 and were one of the first crews to register for the 2018 championship.
Shawn was a big man with a big character and had made many friends throughout Ireland, he will be sorely missed on the Irish Tarmac. Our deepest condolences go to Shawn’s family and friends and to Steve’s son Declan, his family and friends.
