Sam Delivers In Longford

th Sam Moffett recorded a start to finish win in the Midlands Moto stages rally in Longford. Right from the start he and Karl Atkinson set their stall out and by first service they had a lead of almost forty seconds. Sam controlled from the front for the rest of the rally and finished over a minute ahead of second placed Roy White.

After the disappointment of his puncture in West Cork whilst in sight of the finish, this dominant win will do his confidence the world of good and Sam will without doubt head to Killarney as the one to watch.

In the Modified Adrian Heatherington and Brian Brogan finished first and second respectively. Brian lost some time early on with a slow puncture and this put paid to his chances of a Modified win. He will be pleased though with his second place Modified finish especially after the disappointment of his non-finish in West Cork whilst fighting for the Modified lead.

Joint leader of the ITRC R2 class James Wilson also entered the Midland Moto stages to get some more seat time in his new Peugeot 208. A steep learning curve for the young Armagh driver, James finished 29th overall and third in class.
