Focus On: Fraser Mulholland 3rd Class 2

Despite missing the opening round in Galway, Fraser Muholland and his co-driver Geoff Patterson have competed on and finished each subsequent round to currently lie third overall in the R2 category of the Clonakilty Blackpudding Irish Tarmac Championship with the class also having Campsie Karting as an associate sponsor.

Fraser Mulholland & Geoff Patterson – 3rd – Class 2

“I didn’t get to do Galway so the championship didn’t start for me until the second round in Clonakilty for the West Cork Rally. We had a steady run, finished 23rd overall and took fourth place points in the class. The high point of the year for me was the Circuit of Ireland with another finish and second place points gained in the class, while the car also worked really well that weekend as everything just clicked.

Killarney was extremely frustrating, because although we finished and gained more points, the car was cutting out continuously over the weekend and it was impossible to get into any kind of a rhythm. Despite the problems we still managed to finish fifteenth overall. Donegal saw us finish our fourth consecutive event with a seventeenth overall and at this point in time we are third overall in the class.

I’m currently on the lookout for a new car, preferably a Peugeot 208. The battles within the class have all been enjoyable and I look forward to competing on the championship again in 2017. It’s my first time competing on such quality events and everyone I have met has been more than helpful. It’s also a great way to see more of the country! I’d like to thank my sponsors Morrow Tanker Services, Ballinahinch Motors, Mulholland Butchers and Progress Energy who have been a great support to me this season”.
