Exciting incentive for winners of new Junior Championship

A new junior category was announced as part of the 2015 Clonakilty Blackpudding Irish Tarmac Rally Championship by the TROA recently, and the winner of this new championship will have the incentive of an invitation to the M-Sport Champions Day in December 2015. This is an annual event where the winners from the regional Fiesta Sport Trophy series are invited to the M-Sport test track at Kirkbride Airfield and each winner is offered a 40 minute slot in the Ford Fiesta R5 for them to be able to test the car.

On the day M-Sport will have one of their WRC driving team in standby to offer advice and some tuition and then the driver will have the chance to experience the 4WD rally car in a controlled safe environment. This prize can give drivers an insight into future potential options and could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for some.

David Gray, chairman of the TROA said “this is a great incentive for those competing in the Junior Championship to experience firsthand what its like behind the scenes at a top rallying team, and we would like to thank Malcolm Wilson & Andrew Wheatley of M-Sport for putting forward this incentive”.

Gerard Seaman, Championship Manager, said “A prize like this gets the new Junior Championship off to a great start and I’m sure the competition throughout the year will be intense as each and every competitor strives to ensure a trip to M-Sport next December”.
