Plans are well underway for this year’s Joule Donegal International Rally, which takes place from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th June. The three-day event attracts tens of thousands of visitors to the county and is estimated to be worth €25 million to the local economy.
One of the biggest sporting events in Ireland, the Joule Donegal International Rally brings some of the best rally teams and crews from around the world to the northwest. Last year’s event welcomed crews from Ireland, the UK, continental Europe, the USA and New Zealand and Clerk of the Course Eamon McGee believes the 2017 event will continue to be an international draw:
“We’re looking forward to hosting the cream of Irish and international talent in Donegal this summer. The 2017 Joule Donegal International Rally is Ireland’s only three-day event and a counting round of both the Clonakilty Black Pudding Irish Tarmac Championship and the FIA European Rally Celtic Trophy. We’ll be continuing with a tried and trusted routine with scrutiny on Thursday, followed by three days of non-stop action from Friday to Sunday”.
