Viewing figures for the Donegal International Rally broke all records when aired on Thursday Night/Friday Morning. 34000 people/19% of the viewing population tuned in to the On The Limit Sports programme which was aired at 00.20hrs. This, added to the massive social media interest, 700,000 hits this year so far has elevated the Irish Tarmac Championship to new heights.
Nobody can argue that the ITRC now ranks as probably the best domestic Championship in Europe and with two rounds left, at least four drivers can still take the overall win. Next up is the Ulster Rally in August and the final round in Cork, with points and a half on offer, will make for an exciting finish to the Championship.
